Bird Canada author and birder extraordinaire Charlotte Wasylik is participating in the annual Baillie Birdathon in May. This is the oldest sponsored bird count in North America and proceeds raised support bird studies across Canada.
Her goal is $500 and she has already raised $205. She has earmarked half of the money raised to go to her local naturalist society and the other half to Bird Studies Canada. Charlotte would very much appreciate support for her Birdathon and help reaching her goal. She is aiming to count 80 species in 24 hours as a team of one, and I’m sure she can do it!
Teenagers like Charlotte are the future of bird conservation, so Bird Canada is happy to have made a contribution to her count. Here is the link to her page. so you can give her a hand.
Pat, thank you so very much! It’s so kind and generous, to have both the donation and this wonderful post letting others know about my second birdathon. Last year was my first year, and I’ve been nervous about setting too high a goal — I would hate to disappoint Bird Studies Canada and my local naturalist society. But everyone has been so wonderfully supportive — birders are some of the most generous people I know! Thank you again, Pat and Bird Canada.
