T.O. Backyard – Project FeederWatch

This is the first time we’ve had a White-throated Sparrow in the Fall months of Project FeederWatch.

Today was the first day of Project FeederWatch for the 2018-2019 season. It was a cold and windy day here in Toronto, we even had a couple snow flurries. Project Feeder Watch is really Rob’s thing, he’s been doing it for about a decade. I’m usually in the kitchen during count time, making breakfast and keeping him company. Our kitchen is the hub of the house, and the kitchen window over looks the backyard. I was awake and up first this morning, and noticed a flurry of activity in the backyard, and I wasn’t long getting him up so he could start his first count of this season.

Here is today’s list of backyard birds:

  • American Robin – 1
  • White-breasted Nuthatch – 2
  • Red-breasted Nuthatch – 2
  • Rock Pigeon – 15
  • House Sparrow – 33
